So you may remember that I was talking about how crazy the hill in the course was for the Cross My Heart And Hope To Die Willoughby Cyclocross Spectacular. So I took a quick video for you guys of the hill, here you go.
It's like porn for cyclists, isn't it. Hope this gets Bluenoser excited and motivated for his four race series.
They're running up the hill on account you have to dismount and jump the barricade and run the hill. I don't know if the hill would even be ridable if the barricade wasn't there. Its a pretty tall, steep hill, and its pretty rutted and torn up. As far as the guy carrying his bike on the chain side... Unless there was a big change that I missed thats the dude who probably won. I wasn't asking questions *wink*. Yeah, I don't know why... I always dismount on the non-chain side.
That hill hurt SO bad. The lap after my crash after losing touch with Jeff and Rudy and everyone else I started to walk, but the second I quite "running" I realized how fast we were actually going up. Well fast vs walking!! IN one step I was back to running. Ouch!!
bluenoser-it faster on the remount!! But takes a lot of discipline and concentration to do!! And seconds count especially to the guy behind as he sees the front guy inch away on every technical section.
I was wondering exactly the same as Bluenoser: Why are they not riding up the hill? :-) Fascinating, this cyclocross. I've never seen a race and only ever read about it on blogs. I'm not even sure if they have anything cyclocross in Oz or Brisbane?

Hell yea! Looks awesome to me....
Yup, it's a hill alright. I'm pumped and doing a fitness boot camp twice a week for the next six weeks.
The new Portland should be here in a few days and Al and I are going to figure out what tires will be best for cross. Can't wait.

BTW, why are they running up that hill??
